NORTH EAST ENGLAND
The North East is one of the largest regions in England and covers Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and the Tees Valley. The region is home to three large conurbations: Teesside, Wearside, and Tyneside, the latter of which is the largest of the three and the eighth most populous conurbation in the United Kingdom.
Along side the bustiling towns and cities you’ll find stunning natural beauty, awe-inspiring coastlines, thousands of years of history and heritage, rugged moorland, bustling cities and tranquil market towns.
The area is host to Hadrian’s Wall, a stunning ‘necklace’ of Roman wall and forts across the north of England, and along with Durham Castle and Durham Cathedral forms a pair of World Heritage sites found on our doorstep.
